Gaining Weight!!

I almost fell off of the scale today at my doctors appointment. I gained 10 pounds in 6 weeks! That's a total of 18 pounds so far. I don't know if I'll be able to stop at the 25 pound weight gain that I hoped to hit and not exceed. Ohhh well...Baby Girl is healthy and so am I and that's all that matters.
My next appointment is on January 14th. I have my glucose test on that visit to determine if I have gestational diabetes. Every pregnant woman has this test done in their second trimester, so I'm not too worried. They make me drink this sweet stuff and then take my blood an hour later. She said it sort of tastes like the melted part of those pop-sickles that are frozen in plastic that you push up to eat. Brandon is a little jealous and asked the doctor if he could have one too! I haven't taken a good belly picture in the past couple of weeks, but here is one from Thanksgiving week in Marco Island. The belly gets a little bigger every day.

It's Definitely A Girl!!

We had the BIG ultrasound today. She confirmed we are having a little girl! We do have her name picked out, but sorry y'all, you will find out the day she is born...Brandon's idea!
Anyways, she took all kinds of measurements of baby girl today and everything looks great and normal. She was moving like crazy the entire time! I finally started feeling her kick a few days ago and now I can see why I feel so much movement! Brandon felt her move for the first time 2 nights ago and then again last night...it's pretty amazing! The only thing that's not so amazing is when she kicks me right in the bladder. I really don't need her to help me go, I already go about 3 times an hour!
We got some great photos today! I keep teasing that today was more fun than a theme park, but I'm actually being serious!! Check out our baby girl...

                                                                       Her Heart

                                                          You can see her cornea

                                                                     Her Feet

                                                                      Baby Girl

                                                                 That's our Baby

                                                           Definitely a girl!!!

It's A Girl! (we think)

Well, we had a pretty unexpected day! We visited Dr. Aguayo for my 16 week check-up. Nothing special was suppose to happen, but everyone kept asking us if today was the day of the ultrasound that would determine the baby's sex. We decided to share this news with the doctor and she asked us if we wanted to take a look...duh!!!! For about 8 minutes she looked at every possible angle and she thinks it's a girl! We are so excited, but we would have been just as happy if she said it was a boy!
Our actual ultrasound is November 30th. At that appointment the ultrasound will last for about 30 minutes and they will take measurements of the baby, determine that the due date is still on track, and tell us if it is definitely a girl or a boy.
As for me, I'm still doing fine and she even complimented me on maintaining a healthy weight gain...only 2 pounds since the last visit! Wooo Hooo!
I can't believe we are going to have a daughter! I posted some pictures of her below, but they are not very clear. All of the arrows are pointing to the sex! But picture #4 is the profile of our baby girl's face!
I'm so excited to share these with everyone! I love and miss you guys!!

We Heard the Heartbeat

Hi Everyone! We had our second appointment with Dr. Aguayo today. She went over my blood test from the previous visit and everything is perfect. Yay for me not having any crazy diseases! We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat today. Brandon and I were both a little choked up...okay, I was REALLY choked up! I guess it's just reassuring to know that everything is still normal and okay since I can't feel anything going on inside. I would be lying if I said I didn't worry about it sometimes. I also hate to admit this, but I've gained 6 pounds since my last visit. However, they did say that was normal. The nurse told us a 20-25lb weight gain was normal, but Dr. Aguayo said that a 30-35lb wight gain is what she normally sees. Let's hope I stay in the 20-25 pound range! Brandon took a photo of me yesterday. I'm not huge yet, but you can definitely tell my belly is getting bigger. Till next time, I love and miss you all!

First Ultrasound Photos

Hi family and friends! We had our first visit to the doctor today. Brandon's co-worker was right, Dr. Aguayo is amazing! She is really nice and sensitive and has a great sense of humor, we couldn't ask for anyone better.
Everything went great and looks great. We didn't get to hear a heartbeat, but still just as awesome, we got to see the heartbeat! And as you can see we have photos!!! It feels so much more real now that we have all this proof to back up the pregnancy. It was an indescribable moment for both Brandon and I to see our baby for the first time, we were and are truly awestruck.
As for me, the nausea still isn't too bad, it comes and goes, but I am sooooooo tired all of the time! When I get home in the afternoons, I hit the couch and don't move until my wonderful husband finishes dinner. I don't know what I would do without him.
Our next visit is in 6 weeks on October 1st. Dr. Aguayo said that we could hear the heartbeat on that visit. I wonder how different the baby will look then.
We'll be in Orlando next month for Amanda & Preston's wedding, we can't wait to see everyone!

Doctor Update

Well, we've found an OB/GYN in Huntsville. One of Brandon's co-worker and his wife recommended her, so I hope we like her. She is Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Crestwood Hospital where I will be delivering, so that has to mean something right? Our first appointment is next Friday at 9:00am. That seemed so far away to me, but I had no idea that the doctors didn't want to see you until you are 5-8 weeks pregnant! I guess you can say I'm a little anxious since I have no idea what they will be doing on that first visit, but I'm really curious to see where I'm actually at in the pregnancy and to make sure everything is normal and okay.
So far I have felt great all weekend and today! A lot of people have told me they started to get sick in their 5th week. I hope that doesn't happen to me! Say a prayer for me Ya'll! ~XOXO~

We Have A Blog

As everyone probably already knows, WE'RE PREGNANT!! My friend, Chrissy, inspired me to start a blog now that our family is expanding. I'm going to try to be as faithful as she is at updating the blog when ever possible. She does an amazing job letting everyone know what's happening in their life and the life of their precious newborn Oliva.
Since we and my soon to be growing belly are 700 miles away from everyone, I really wanted to find a way that makes everyone feel like they were here with us. I think a blog is the best way!
So here is where it all starts...
On Tuesday evening, we took a pregnancy test. One line was dark pink, but the other line was so light we actually missed it the first time looking. Brandon and I couldn't decide whether it was a positive or negative so we went back to the store and bought a digital (YES+ or NO-) test. It was YES+!! On Thursday, we went to my doctor to confirm the pregnancy and of course, confirmed it was! We are so excited...and nervous (well, I'm nervous!) So, I'm already on my prenatal vitamins, but now we have to find an OB/GYN and make a first visit by hopefully next week. It's not an exact date yet, but my doctor (and Brandon) thinks that the due date is April 10th. I will let everyone know more after the next visit to the doctors!
